What is the Story About?

It paints a lovely picture of a society that is undoubtedly rarefied but doesn’t get beyond its vanity-project roots. She remembers not being impressed with Styron while reading his debut book, “Lie Down in Darkness.” She began working for Amnesty International after getting interested in human rights. She claims that she and her husband controlled their marriage and acted like a conventional 1950s American couple.
