Thanksgiving 2 is Confirmed With the Director Eli Roth: The Bloody Thanksgiving!
Yes, you heard right!
Thanksgiving 2 is officially coming up. Eli Roth directed the new Murderous Thanksgiving, an extension of the parody trailer he did for the throwback double feature Grindhouse from 2007.
The Director Confirmed the News for the Upcoming “Thanksgiving” Sequel!
Director Eli Roth said on Thursday that he will be creating a follow-up to the horror film Thanksgiving, which made its theatrical debut earlier this month.
“Great news: I got the call this morning from Sony — we’re doing a sequel. Going back for seconds.
Eli Roth declared in an Instagram video,
“Thanksgiving 2 is a go,”
He added,
“We want to outdo ourselves, make it better than the first one.“
Views and Budget, the Movie “Thanksgiving” Has Made
“Thanksgiving” opened to $10 million in North America in November and has now made $30 million worldwide, although this isn’t quite a blockbuster success.
However, Sony’s TriStar Pictures, which supported the first movie, must feel justified in coming back to frighten the people of Plymouth, Massachusetts, given that the film’s production cost $15 million.
When Will “Thanksgiving 2” be Released?
The 51-year-old Roth stated that the idea of launching a “slasher franchise” is a “dream” and that the follow-up will be released in theaters “sometime in 2025, probably around Thanksgiving.”
So, the follow-up of “Thanksgiving” is scheduled for release in 2025 by Sony’s Tristar.
Director’s Declaration About the Film’s Sequel
In the Instagram post’s caption, he wrote,
“BREAKING NEWS! John Carver will kill again! @thanksgivingmovie sequel is a GO!!! Thank you to everyone who supported ORIGINAL HORROR in theaters!!! Go see it now on the big screen while it’s in cinemas.”
Along with the upcoming sequel announcement, Roth also revealed that he and the Screenwriter Jeff Rendell will
“take a year off so we can really really write a great script.“
About the Movie “Thanksgiving”
Its story revolves around a masked serial killer who poses as a 17th-century Pilgrim and begins taking victims in Plymouth, Massachusetts, following a tragic Black Friday occurrence.
The plot synopsis attracts viewers with the following: “As residents are eliminated one by one, what at first appear to be senseless retaliation murders turn out to be a terrifying holiday scheme.”
Will the community find the murderer in time to avoid being killed off for the holidays, or will they end up at his sinister holiday dinner table?”
Patrick Dempsey, Addison Rae, Milo Manheim, Jalen Thomas Brooks, Nell Verlaque, Rick Hoffman, and Gina Gershon are among the cast members of Thanksgiving.
Inspiration and Theme of the Movie “Thanksgiving”
Films like Hostel, The Green Inferno, and Cabin Fever are among Roth’s most well-known works. Thanksgiving is derived from the fictitious movie trailer he created for Grindhouse in 2007.
Grindhouse is a double bill of two distinct horror movies that were first released simultaneously, as many classics in the genre did: Quentin Tarantino’s revenge parody Death Proof and Rodriguez’s horror comedy Planet Terror.
The original Grindhouse trailer captures the essence of a 1970s exploitation movie, complete with sinfulness, sexual content, and plenty of bloody scenes.
From the trailer alone, it’s clear that the new Thanksgiving will seem and feel very different. It still presents us with multiple outrageous situations from the previous trailer.
But the tone is more serious than extremely absurd, even though there is still a lot of bloodshed.
This Thanksgiving, There Will be NO LEFTOVERS!
Wrapping up the words with the movie’s tagline. Hopefully, no sadness or grief will be left over in our lives for the upcoming year.
There will be peace and harmony everywhere. So, enjoy the first movie this holiday season because the other one is coming behind for the next one.
