Evan Ellingson’s Death Cause Revealed; An Autopsy Confirmed!
Actor Evan Ellingson passed away earlier this month at the age of 35. His cause of death has been made open to the public.
The San Bernardino County Sheriff’s Department confirmed that Ellingson passed away due to an unintentional fentanyl overdose.
Monday, November 6th, marked the autopsy of Ellingson, who was discovered deceased the previous day at his Fontana residence. On the coroner’s webpage, “accident” is reported as the cause of death.
He Has Vanished From the Screen for Years
Despite not appearing on screen for ten years, Ellingson had many parts in projects during his childhood and adolescence.
His most famous role was in the 2009 adaption of Jodi Picoult’s My Sister’s Keeper, where he played Jesse Fitzgerald, the teenage son of Cameron Diaz’s character Sara.
In the movie, he starred opposite Sofia Vassilieva and Abigail Breslin.
Evan Ellingson’s Contributions to the Industry
His career started with cameo appearances on Mad TV and progressed to a series regular position on the Fox sitcom Titus in 2002.
He played Kyle Savage in the 2004 ABC sitcom Complete Savages, about the son of single father Keith Carradine.
He also had a significant dramatic part in 24 as Josh Bauer, Kiefer Sutherland’s nephew, and in CSI: Miami’s Seasons 6–8 as Kyle Harmon, David Caruso’s son.
He worked on Clint Eastwood’s Letters from Iwo Jima, among other films.
Complete Savages, 24, Letters from Iwo Jima, Titus, Mad TV, and State of Mind were among his other credits.
In a 2009 interview, Ellingson said,
“I never had the same [childhood] experience with my friends. I never had more time with them.
However, my childhood was a cool one. I was busy doing the things I love. I had no regrets because I found my passion for acting early on.”
Evan’s Relatives’ Reaction Over His Early Death
Following a conclusion to the police inquiry, Ellingson passed away from an unintentional fentanyl overdose, according to an official firm from San Bernardino County. He was thirty-five years old.
Shortly after his demise, Ellingson’s family released a statement saying,
“Our family is heartbroken by the sudden passing of our beloved son, brother, uncle, and friend, Evan.
Evan was a truly caring person who genuinely loved Jesus.
He had a sweet, child-like spirit with a smile that could light up a room.
He had a constant sense of concern for other people and a desire to use his own experiences with addiction to give others hope.
Evan was three years sober and often shared his journey of recovery through speaking engagements and ministry.”
They added further,
“He was passionate about pointing individuals to resources for help and only recently relapsed after being prescribed opioids following a dental procedure.
“While in the end, he fell in his earthly battle with addiction, he was able to choose Jesus as his Lord and Savior and receive eternal life with Him.
We already miss Evan and cherish every moment of joy, laughter and love that he brought to us and so many others.”
Glimpse of Evan’s Biography
Ellingson was born on July 1, 1988, and his three brothers grew up in La Verne.
When he was ten, he was spotted at a skatepark, allowed to play for the Vans PeeWee squad, and appeared in a shoe brand commercial.
In 2001, Ellingson made his screen debut in the television films General Hospital and Living in Fear.
Following her guest appearances on “Mad TV,” Ellingson pursued a television career. Alongside Kiefer Sutherland, he starred as Josh Bauer in the 2007 film “24.”
From 2007 to 2010, he appeared in the television series “CSI: Miami,” where he portrayed Kyle Harmon, the son of David Caruso’s character, Lt. Horatio “H” Caine.
Alongside Cameron Diaz, Alec Baldwin, and Abigail Breslin, Ellingson starred in the tragic thriller “My Sister’s Keeper” in 2009.
He received a nomination in 2005 for a Young Artist Award in recognition of his work on the television series “Complete Savages.”
A Star Left the Twinkling World so Early, RIP
According to reports, Ellingson began misusing narcotics at the age of 19, when his older brother passed away from a heroin overdose. In 2021, he went to therapy for drug addiction.
