Angelina Jolie Opens Up About Her Difficult Divorce And The Struggle Thenceforth
After her heated divorce from her ex-husband Brad Pitt, Angelina Jolie has recently been upfront about her mental health.
In September 2016, Jolie filed for divorce from Pitt, claiming “irreconcilable differences.”
Robert Offer, her lawyer, stated at the time that the choice was made “for the health of the family.“
Angelina Jolie, About her Divorce
Jolie talks extensively in the interview about her challenges throughout the divorce, her life after Brad, and the challenges of co-parenting their six kids.
“I think it’s very important to cry in the shower and not in front of them. They need to know that everything will be alright even when you’re unsure.”
Before Jolie’s divorce filing in September of last year, she and Pitt were together for 12 years, being married in 2014.
Before the divorce, Jolie claimed that “things got bad” in the summer of 2016; however, she retracted her statement.
“I didn’t want to use that word…Things became ‘difficult.‘”
What She Felt After Taking the Divorce From Brad Pitt
In a recent interview, the Tomb Raider actress disclosed her health during her painful breakup with Pitt to a French magazine.
According to Jolie,
“The split was a complicated moment.” “When my relationship with Brad was coming to an end, I had lost myself a bit.” the Maleficent actress said.
Jolie revealed that she felt
“smaller, almost insignificant, even if it wasn’t necessarily obvious” when they were apart.
The 48-year-old actress acknowledged,
“I was hurt. I felt a deep and genuine sadness.”
Angelina Praises Her Children for Facing Hard Time With Courage
Jolie said she wasn’t interested in talking about the split “for the sake of the kids,” but she did note that she was pleased with Maddox, Pax, Zahara, Shiloh, Vivienne, and Knox for their forward-thinking ways.
According to Jolie, her six kids have shown great bravery. She said,
“They’ve been very brave. They were very brave.
Her kids were courageous enough. “In times they needed to be”, she uttered without providing details.
“We’re all just healing from the events that led to the filing…They’re not healing from divorce. They’re healing from some…from life, from things in life.”
Jolie continues, “It’s just been the hardest time, and we’re just kind of coming up for air.“
Angelina and Kids are Regaining Their Lives’ Momentum
The focus now is on restoring and getting used to life without Pitt. Jolie juggles work and charitable endeavors with playtime, doctor appointments, and meals.
To allow her estranged, well-known father, Jon Voight, to spend more time with the kids, she has attempted to mend her relationship with him.
However, it’s complex. The family has moved into an estimated $25 million house originally owned by filmmaker Cecil B. DeMille, but it is not entirely occupied.
Jolie seems to be attempting to maintain her composure and provide the best for her children, much like any other single mother.
“All I want to do is maintain the house and prepare the right breakfast. That is my passion,”
Jolie remarked.
“At my kids’ request, I’m taking cooking classes. As I sleep at night, I think, “Did I do a great job as a mom or was that an average day?“
Their Marriage Was a Good Opportunity for Their Children
Jolie disproves the rumors that she and Pitt’s extravagant lives caused the divorce. “Our lifestyle was not in any way negative,” she says.
She added,
“That was not the problem. That is, and will remain, one of the wonderful opportunities we can give our children…”
Wishing Them All Good and Power
Angelina Jolie is gaining up life’s trajectory again with her kids. We wish them all power and strength in their life journey.
As Jolie stated earlier, she’s “in a period of transition, like a homecoming, a return to herself and doesn’t know what the future has in store for her” despite her legal disputes with Pitt.
The positive things in life, she said, helped her “reconnect” after her separation. “All these things settle in you and remind you how lucky you are to be alive,” she said.
